He started with Jim Crockett Promotions in the National Wrestling Alliance, with Paul Jones as his manager. He participated in the 1987 Jim Crockett, Sr. Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament, teaming with Shaska Whatley. They defeated Jimmy Valiant and Lazer Tron in their qualifying match, but lost to The Road Warriors in the next round.
Khan resurfaced in the American Wrestling Association in 1988 as a tag team partner of Soldat Ustinov, where he had series of matches against Baron Von Raschke.
In 1986, he had a part in the movie Body Slam, where he portrayed a tag team wrestler, "Hannibal the Cannibal", managed by Captain Lou Albano.
In 1992, he had a brief part in a movie called Equinox, where he played "I.M. Stong" and was telling people how to use a clothesline.[1]
